A contemporary bistro-style restaurant has just opened in the Manhattan building, Century City. Machete was tasked with developing the corporate identity of the establishment, including design of the logo, menus, signage, flyers and a website.

Managed by Walda Meyer of Manhattan Suites & Conferencing and headed up in the kitchen by chef Renee Maree, Jacqui O serves a wide range of fresh, healthy meals in a cosy neighbourhood 40-seater, which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Light meals include salads and wraps, while mains include Fish of the Day, Roast Chicken Pie, Beef Curry, Smoked Pork Neck and a Gourmet Beef Burger, for prices ranging from R38 to just R77. Jacqui O is fully licensed and has a well chosen and very well priced wine list.

I can highly recommend the Wine-baked Camembert starter, and there’s only one word to do justice to Renee’s signature chocolate fondant dessert: ORGASMIC!
