How to Send PDFs & Other Doc’s
MacheteMail can be used to send out emailers that have not been designed in the MacheteMail template and editing system. If you have an HTML, PDF, Word or text document designed in another programme, you can use MacheteMail to send it out to your subscriber database, and still get all the reporting information you do when sending an emailer generated within the MacheteMail system. Here’s how to go about it.
1. Login in to your MacheteMail account.
2. Click on Newsletter
3. From the dropdown menu, click on Import / Export
4. Under Import to, select A new newsletter, then select where you would like to save the newsletter (i.e. Drafts, Templates, etc.).
5. Finally give your newsletter a name. It is good practice not to use spaces in the name. Rather use an underscore (e.g. Newsletter_December_2009).
6. Once you have done that, scroll down to the next section called Get email newsletter from. Here you have the option of importing from Word, HTML, PDF, text or from a URL. These all follow very much the same protocol but today we are going to import an html document. So make sure the HTML or text button is checked and click on Choose File.
7. This will bring up a pop up window that will allow you to browse to the place on your computer where you saved the file you wish to upload.
8. Once you have selected the file, you now have 2 options where you need to specify where the images will be saved. If you have or are going to upload images to MacheteMail, then make sure the ‘Add my images path to all images. I will be uploading images to this folder …’ option is checked, and select where you will upload your images from the dropdown menu.
9. You can now click on the Preview button under the Newsletter tab. Select the folder you saved your newsletter to, click on that and it will bring up the preview.
From here, do the normal check of sending yourself a test newsletter before broadcasting your newsletter to your selected mailing list. Easy as pie!
